WINING AND DINING FOR THE DOGS

We hosted a fantastic fundraising event at Mr Pants Wine Bar and Coalition Pizza in Blairgowrie on 26 May.

We welcomed our guests at Mr Pants Wine Bar with a lovely Rosé wine by Painted Wolf Wines, who donated all of the wine for the evening. We then all braved the chilly highveld night for a brilliant demonstration by our dog-handlers, Shadi and Innocent, and their incredible dogs, Hitsch, Kisha, and Reaper. These dogs are trained to detect rhino horn, ivory, pangolin scales, ammunition, and Lion bone. The EWT’s Conservation Canine Project provides trained detection and tracking canines to the conservation sector to support well-structured security plans.

We were then welcomed by the fantastic staff at Coalition Pizza, who treated us to delicious salads and pizza throughout the evening. We paired their food with more premium wines by Painted Wolf, including their Lycaon Chenin 2018 and Pictus VI in their white wine range and some wonderful reds, namely the Syrah 2018 and Guillermo Pinotage 2018.

Our guests had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and we raised over R30,000 for our incredible Conservation Canines.
